Crisis on Infinite Earths #10: Pt. 86
Previously in Crisis on Infinite Earths #9…
Brainiac explodes by the hand of Psimon, who states that Lex Luthor must die as well…
Crisis on Infinite Earths #10 begins where issue #9 ends, when suddenly…

On Earth-1 at the dawn of mankind, Anthro sees a fire in the sky that then disappears.
.
On Earth-4, Negative Woman destroys Chemo. Aqualad worries about Aquagirl, who was poisoned by the acids Chemo put into the water. On shore, heroes battle Black Adam.
.
On Earth-S, Martian Manhunter and the Atom (Ray Palmer) arrive to release the heroes that the villains had put on ice.
.
On Earth-X, heroes gain the upper hand.
.
Aboard Brainiac’s ship, Luthor comments that despite the overwhelming power of the villains, the two sides seem equal. Brainiac responds…
Not unexpected, Luthor. The humans on our side are overly suspicious… highly uncooperative. They fight alone… disdaining the aid of others. Our foes work in teams… only in unity is there strength.
Suddenly…

Spectre explains that the Anti-Monitor has fled to the beginning of time where he intends to change history. With only anti-matter, “all earths… all universes… all life will be eliminated.” He reminds them all that Monitor summoned heroes and villains to fight together, not against each other.
There must be cooperation or all life is doomed to non-existence.
.
Hundreds of heroes and villains gather on “the great barren wastelands of Earth-1’s Death Valley." Some meet their alternative Earth counterparts for the first time, as well as new heroes that have emerged during the Crisis. Uncle Sam gives an inspirational speech to unite them…

Using various time machines and superhero powers, the heroes vanish into the past. Brainiac calculates the chances for success as .000362, the chances for his own survival as .00436, and the chances that his electronic intellect can survive as .043.
.
Beneath the Seven Seas, Aqualad and Queen Mera mourn the death of Aquagirl.
.
At the beginning of time, the heroes encounter Anti-Monitor…

The villains travel “to a time only ten billion years ago.” They go to Oa to reach Krona before he creates the multiverse and the anti-matter universe. In his laboratory, though, Krona appears…

Meanwhile, the Anti-Monitor claims the heroes have brought him additional energies that he needs to change the course of history.
.
Spectre reclaims the energy of the heroes and attempts to stop the Anti-Monitor, who at the same time screams for Krona to “open the portal…”

“To be continued…?” indeed. Return next Wednesday for??? In the meantime, click here to read The Monitor Tapes…
