Chicago, Illinois: There’s an old joke in this town that if you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute. But the joke has suddenly become a reality… and now nobody’s laughing.

It’s the same all across the universe. The once soft, velvety blackness of space is no more. The gently twinkling stars have become flares of warning.

They warn of a universe gone mad.

In DC Comics Presents #86, Supergirl admits she is scared about what is happening, “And if a Supergirl can be frightened by what’s going on… imagine how the rest of the world feels!”
