Crisis on Infinite Earths #4: Pt. 33
Previously in Infinity Inc. #18…
A Harbinger replicant recruits Obsidian to fight Monitor’s war…
In Infinity Inc. #19, Scarab tells other team members the story of Obsidian’s disappearance…

They are distracted, though, by something outside the window. “It’s… the sky! It’s turned red!”
.
Commander Steel, who disappeared more than 40 years ago in the middle of World War II appears out of nowhere with a robotic companion, Mekanique. He tells members of Infinity, Inc. that he had been transported to Earth-1, where he lived as his alter ego, Hank Heywood.
.
He’s here now, though, to ask them to return with him to help fight a battle against “a bunch of super-powered young criminals who’ve taken over from the original crew, and now call themselves the ‘new’ Justice League. (Apparently he doesn’t know that they are the new Justice League.)
.
In Gotham City of Earth-2, “home turf of the super-hero group that started the whole damn thing: The Justice Society of America,” Dr. Fate explains the scope of the crisis to Wonder Woman, Hawkman and Flash (Jay Garrick).
.
In what’s billed as “the last JLA-Justice Society team-up,” Infinity Inc. arrives in Detroit with Commander Steel and Mekanique, where a seven-page fight ensues between the two teams.
