Crisis on Infinite Earths #4: Pt. 34
Previously in Infinity Inc. #19…
Infinity Inc. arrives in Detroit with Commander Steel and Mekanique and a battle ensues between them and the new Justice League…
In Justice League of America # 244, the new Justice League retreats to the abandoned JLA satellite…

Meanwhile, Northwind finds no evidence in Detroit that Hank Heywood’s claims about the new Justice League are true. Indeed, Commander Steel tells Mekanique:
I did so much… I expected so much… and what did he (his grandson, Hank aka Steel) give me in return? Betrayal! He betrayed me – he and his so-called Justice League. Where they heroes? No! Children, aliens, and outlaws – a mockery of the original League! As soon as I realized what they were, I knew they had to be destroyed. For Hank’s sake… I had to smash the Justice League!
The Justice Society arrives from Earth-2. Hawkman wonders what went wrong with Commander Steel. “If I hadn’t seen this with my own eyes… he was a good man!” Then, the Justice League, back from Earth-2 soon after the Justice Society completed their trip, appears and Commander Steel faces Steel.
.
While they fight, leaving the younger hero the victor, Dr. Fate says, “The storm grows worse, beyond mortal comprehension. We are needed.”
.
Zatanna then comments, “I can’t explain it, but know this storm – bizarre as it is – is just a prelude. A prelude to what I cannot imagine! All I know is this… whatever it is we face, we face it together, all of us – friends and enemies alike.”
