Crisis on Infinite Earths #5: Pt. 38
Previously in Crisis on Infinite Earths…
Harbinger kills Monitor and the two remaining Earth’s are seemingly destroyed by antimatter…
Crisis on Infinite Earths #5 begins immediately following the events of #4. The yet-to-be-identified villain is concerned:
The Monitor is dead… yet his energies have not flowed into me. Two universes are gone, yet I have not received their power.
As Pariah and Lyle (reverted to her original form after becoming Harbinger) mourn the death of Monitor, they hear a familiar voice…

Apparently, Monitor had to be killed so that his energy would be released to give his machines (“vibrational forks”) more power. And Earths-1 and 2 were not destroyed; they now exist within Monitor. However, in his “haste to save the worlds, all time has become one!”
.
The worlds are still in danger! The vibrations which separate the universes are slowing down… the universes are merging…and when they occupy the same space at the same time… they will destroy each other!
.
Just then, a fully-grown “Alex” Luthor appears and tells them, “The Monitor saved me, then discovered somehow I am both positive matter and negative matter in one. He left me with instructions how to help the worlds that survive and those about to die.”
.
Back in the villain’s dark lair, Psycho-Pirate wonders what he’s supposed to do now…

On the merged Earths, Lana Lang reports that time has seemingly come together… the past, present – and even the future – all exist at once.
