Crisis on Infinite Earths #5: Pt. 41

Previously in Swamp Thing #44...

  • John Constantine says, “Don’t worry about this crisis business. It’s what comes after that you should be worrying about.”

In the first two pages of Swamp Thing #46, writer Alan Moore and artists Stephen Bissette and John Totleben do an amazing job of explaining what has happened since Earth-1 and Earth-2 began merging inside Monitor…

.

Harbinger does not appear and command Swamp Thing to come with her like she did with other superheroes (see previous chapters of the story); however, John Constantine transports both of them to Monitor’s satellite.

Something’s eating its way through them (parallel Earths) like a maggot munching through a stack of maps. In order to survive, the remaining worlds are being sort of folded together, making them stronger. It’ll work. A lot of people will finish up dead, but it’s work.

Constantine then throws open a circular door and says, “The party’s been under way for ages. Let’s mingle.”
