Meanwhile…

.

The Guardians determine that Hal Jordan may return to Earth, but for only 24 hours. While he’s been gone, Congressman Jason Bloch learned that Hal is Green Lantern. Carol Ferris and Bruce Gordon remain convinced that the successful completion of the solar jet will save her father’s company…

Later, Bloch’s henchmen burst into Ferris Aircraft and start burning the place down...

In the resulting conflagration, all appears to be lost…

One good thing comes from this, though. Carol Ferris learns that Bloch is behind all the company’s troubles.

Resolutions

. Upon his return to Earth for the 24 hours, the length of one ring charging, Hal learns what happened at Ferris Aircraft. He doesn’t yet know what Richard Davis, Carol Ferris and Bruce Gordon are doing about it…

Soon, this will all be resolved with a big assist from our hero...

Notes

.

Last time, I promised less emphasis on the stories featuring only Dr. Bruce Gordon, not his alter ego, Eclipso. Of the 12 remaining issues of Green Lantern in which one or the other appears, though, it’s only #185 that offers a true Eclipso story in which he is the villain.

.

I've read the rest of the stories and to include them all in one post would be just too much. However, because I’ve already written the rest of this series, I can now confidently promise this will be the final Bruce Gordon-only post. Next week… Eclipso returns!

.

In a follow-up story to Resolutions, (Epilogue: Endings), Hal’s clock ticks down…

Time has moved on all too fast now. Carl Ferris has landed in Washington and has spoken with Congress. The L.A. prosecutor has booked Benjamin Block who is already out on bail, and as for a couple named Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris…

I realize this has nothing to do with Eclipso, but I really like the moment as far as Hal and Carol are concerned.

.

I also include it because with issue #152, writer Marv Wolfman will phase out and by #154, Mike W. Barr will phase in. (By #157, artist Keith Pollard will phase in.) Through #171, Hal Jordan will be exiled in space and it appears that any Earth dramas may be on hiatus for 24 issues.
